Description | Gene expression pattern of alveolar macrophages of allergic asthmatics in comparison with control subjects - GSE22528 |
Purpose | The implication of alveolar macrophages (AM) in asthma, a Th2 disease, has not been well characterized. The purpose of this study was to better characterize alveolar macrophage phenotype of allergic asthmatic compared with normal subjects using genomic expression analyses. |
Experimental Design | Alveolar macrophage samples from 5 allergic asthmatic subjects and 5 from control subjects (without allergy and asthma) were subjected to chip analysis (Affymetrix Human Genome U133A Array). |
Experimental Variables | Asthma |
Controls | 5 non-asthmatic controls |
Methods | Gene expression of AM isolated from bronchoalveolar lavage of 5 allergic asthamtic and 5 healthy control subjects were compared. |
