Compare gene global gene expression changes upon anti-IgE stimulation in purified basophils of atopic and non-atopic subjects.

All sampling from the 16 subjects was done in a 2 month period in November and December, i.e., outside the normal seasonal allergy exposure time frame for the Baltimore area. The category of non-atopics was based on self-reported histories of no known allergies. Atopic subjects were chosen solely on the basis of a history of allergies that included a previous diagnosis by a physician.
